
The motif of the first Greek 2 euro commemorative coin in 2021 was also published today. The theme of the coin is "200 Years of the Greek Revolution". The picture side shows in the middle a round signet with the Greek flag flanked by two olive branches, between the lower ends of the branches the initials of the mint designer Georgios Stamatopoulos and the palmette of the Greek mint can be seen. The issue "1821-2021 200 ΧΡΟNΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΕΠΑΝΑΣΤΑΣΗ" is shown along the upper edge of the inside of the coin and the issuing country "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ" on the lower edge of the picture.
The twelve stars of the European flag are depicted on the outer ring of the coin.
